DIY All-Purpose Surface Cleaner Recipe
DIY Recipe
At Pure Modern Living, we love helping you and your family achieve the clean and healthy living you are striving for. We love a do-it-yourself work ethic! One of our favorite DIY recipes is for an all-purpose surface cleaner. This easy-to-make cleaner smells great, works wonderfully, and contains natural ingredients. Plus, it only takes a couple minutes to make. Let’s get you started on your own DIY all-purpose surface cleaner!
Ingredients
You will need just a few simple items to make this recipe. In fact, we are going to show you two different versions of this cleaner. One will use Castile Soap, and the other will use vinegar. The choice is yours for which one you prefer. Here is the list of ingredients:
Castile Soap Or Vinegar
First off, you will need either castile soap or vinegar. This will be the main component for your cleaner. We recommend Dr. Woods Tea Tree Castile Soap or Spectrum Natural Vinegar. Both of these contain only the best ingredients. You can be sure you are getting only the best with either of these. The castile soap is a vegetable-based soap that smells great and is easy on your skin.
The vinegar option also cleans effectively due to its acidic components. However, it is NOT usable on marble or granite surfaces unlike the castile soap option. Additionally, it needsto be refrigerated between use. For this reason, most people may prefer the castile soap option. With that said, both options are very effective.
Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is an important ingredient for two reasons. First, it smells great! This makes it worthwhile already. Secondly, lemon juice has antibacterial properties to help fight germs.
Rubbing Alcohol Or Vodka
Rubbing alcohol is an antiseptic that will help kill germs as well. However, if you prefer to avoid rubbing alcohol vodka works just as well!
Essential Oils
This is one of our favorite parts of the recipe! Essential oils have a multitude of benefits. First, they provide a wonderful, natural fragrance. However, that is not all they do. They also have disinfecting properties. Aura Cacia has a variety of essential oil options that will give your cleaner a fresh, calming fragrance. We highly recommend the lavender option for that perfect, final touch.
Water
Finally, your cleaner needs water. All good cleaners do!
Spray Bottle
This can be reused from another spray cleaner, as long as you wash it out thoroughly. Another option is to buy a new bottle. Essentially, the choice is yours!

Now that you have everything you need, making your cleaner is a breeze.
