[Recipe] Thanksgiving Cream Corn
Thanksgiving cream corn is one of our oldest family recipes! It is quick and easy to make and is a holiday favorite that has to be served every year at our table without question. This delicious recipe is gluten free and Paleo friendly so be sure to add it to your menu this holiday season!
Ingredients:
6 ounces of cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup milk 2 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. onion salt OR garlic salt if preferred 4 cups frozen or canned organic corn |
Directions:
In saucepan, combine cream cheese, milk butter and onion salt.
Stir over low heat until cheese melts.
Drain kernel corn, stir into cheese mixture.
Continue to cook until corn is heated through.
Garnish with a pinch of parsley or a sprinkle of paprika.
Bacon bits may be added on top for decoration.
Tips:
Be sure to fully defrost, drain and dry out the corn completely before cooking. Otherwise the extra liquid in the corn can cause the dish to be runny. If you have less time available, begin with only a small amount of milk and slowly add more once the corn is heated through until you have reached desired consistancy.
