To follow up that post, we wanted to share a quick and easy DIY Fall Pumpkin face mask recipe that you can incorporate into your daily routine to keep your skin soft and glowing this season.

We’ll get to the recipe in a second. But, before we do, let’s take a minute to look at the ingredients and discuss why they are healthy for your skin!

Pumpkin Face Mask Recipe Ingredients

Our pumpkin face mask recipe very easy to make and is only comprised of 3 safe, natural ingredients: pumpkin puree, coconut oil, and yogurt.

But what makes these three ingredients good for the skin?

Let’s take a look…

Pumpkin Puree

Aside from being a classic fall ingredient staple, pumpkin puree contains many properties that are good for the skin when applied topically.

First and foremost, pumpkins are loaded with vitamin C - a powerful antioxidant. It also contains many other essential vitamins such as Vitamin B and E which promote skin health.

The biggest benefit, however, lies in its natural ability to help repair skin damage.

According to oregonstate.edu...

"The antioxidant properties of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and its role in collagen synthesis make vitamin C a vital molecule for skin health. Dietary and topical ascorbic acid have beneficial effects on skin cells, and some studies have shown that vitamin C may help prevent and treat ultraviolet (UV)-induced photodamage."

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is often used as a natural moisturizer for both hair and skin. It’s a fantastic product for replenishing oil into the skin during dry seasons.

What you might not know, however, is that coconut oil is also an amazing natural antibacterial that can kill microorganisms that lead to acne and inflammation in the skin.

In fact, due to the amount of lauric acid that naturally occurs in coconut oil, it’s been proven to be able to fight off over 20 strains of bacteria which helps prevent breakouts from developing via bacteria in your pores.

Plain Yogurt

The last ingredient is plain yogurt. Yes, we know it sounds a bit odd, but believe it or not slathering this common breakfast food on your face does have advantages.

Yogurt is full of lactic acid, a naturally occurring alpha-hydroxy acid, that has been proven to…

  • Dissolve dead skin cells.
  • Gently exfoliate the skin.
  • Prevent breakouts.
  • Diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
